Melbourne University RFC Coaches/Managers for 2018 Season.

Melbourne University Rugby Football Club (MURFC) is seeking applications for Specialist Coaches, Video Analyst’s and Managers across all grades for the 2018 season.

MURFC is one of Victoria’s leading rugby clubs who compete in the Dewar Shield Competition and have 3 senior grade teams, 2 Colts Teams (Premiers 2017) and 2 Womens Teams (Grand Finalist 2017).

The club is well positioned to benefit from the growth of rugby in Victoria; with the ongoing awarding of the Young Achiever Award scholarship to assist young players pursue their rugby and educational pursuits. Furthermore at the elite level the club has strong connections with the Melbourne Rebels and the National Rugby Championchip (NRC) side the Melbourne Rising.

Coaches: Desired attributes of applicants:

  • Minimum coaching qualifications of ARU Level II or international equivalent
  • Previous coaching experience at Senior/Colts level
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with players at all age groups
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • An ability to “think on the run” and to deal with a range of stakeholders

  • Kicking coach

 

Managers: Desired attributes of applicants:

  • Previous involvement in Rugby
  • Ability to work within a “team” environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with players at all age groups
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • An ability to “think on the run” and to deal with a range of stakeholders

 

The roles include support and involvement in University rugby tournaments and functions.

Whilst these roles are all volunteer positions, staff in our rugby program are supported for their capability build on coaching education.

Position: Head Coach of the Southern Districts Rugby Club (Victoria).

The Club is looking to recruit a Head Coach who can assist in the re-build of its senior playing teams, supporting coaches and management to take the club to the next level.

The club has fantastic training grounds, facilities and lights which are separate to the main playing fields.

The Club: Proud history established in 1972 and is currently playing in the Dewar Shield.

The Club has 3 teams, 1st Grade to 3rd Grade.

The Club’s primary goal is to Better the Player, Better the Person and Better the Community. This frames our focus on an already strong club culture. The Club actively supports aspirational players, coaches and managers and we look forward to furthering our recent history of providing a platform for those associated with the Club to reach the next level of their goals.

The Role:

The Head Coach will be responsible for:

  •   Assist with the recruitment of all senior grade coaches and support staff.
  •   Providing direction and leadership for all senior grade teams including coaches and support

    staff

  •   Align technical strategy across all teams for future development and success
  •   The performance of the 1st Grade team
  •   Overseeing and managing individual development plans for players, coaches and

    management

  •   Managing support staff including medical and strength and conditioning experts.
  •   Identify retention/development needs of current players
  •   Identify recruitment requirements to build a strong on field platform that fits with the Club

    Culture

  •   Report to the Board on a monthly basis, including on field performance, injury management

    and player development strategies
    An agreed set of performance indicators will be put in place with the successful candidate to ensure clarity of expectations.
