Victorian Rugby Facilities Development Plan
The Victorian Rugby Union has commissioned a Facilities’ Development Plan to guide the future planning and development of Rugby facilities across Victoria.
Funded in partnership with the Victorian Government, the VRU Facilities Development Plan will provide a framework for the provision, development and improvement of Rugby infrastructure and will be used by key stakeholders and partners to guide the planning, development and investment of enhanced Rugby facilities across the State for the next 10 years.
The VRU Facilities Development Plan will include not only a plan for enhanced grassroots infrastructure, but also higher level facilities in order to ensure continued retention and development of Victoria’s elite home grown talent and high performance programs.
VICTORIAN RUGBY UNION FACILITIES AUDIT
The Victorian Rugby Union Facilities Audit is a key component of the Victorian Rugby Union’s Facilities Development Plan (currently under development). The upcoming audit program will assist in the identification of not only existing facility condition and future needs across Victoria, but will also equip the VRU and key stakeholders with the most comprehensive facility database and infrastructure inventory in the sports history.
Data captured during the audit process will inform and help shape the overall direction of the Strategic Facilities Development Plan, with the aim of ensuring all Rugby facilities are fun and welcoming places to play Rugby, and provide existing and prospective participants with every opportunity to participate in the sport in their local community.
CLUB AND PARTICIPANT SURVEY
As part of the research, the VRU is inviting all Victorian Rugby Union clubs and participants to participate in an online Survey so that we are able to accurately reflect and understand current and future facility club needs in order to assist in the planning, funding and development of facilities throughout Victoria.
